The IGNITE! Youth Panel is a group of approximately 20 people between the ages of 13 and 24 that gather from September to May each year to create the IGNITE! Youth Arts Festival. In addition to panel meetings on Mondays at 6:00, panel members organize themselves into committees that meet weekly and focus on different aspects of the festival. We audition performers, design and create promotional material, plan workshops relating to our focus, and prepare original MC acts.
Since the entire IGNITE! Festival is organized, performed and teched by youth, the panel is the driving force behind everything that takes place in preparation for, and during, the festival. We devote time, energy and heart to all aspects of the Cultch’s Youth Program, and the exciting results will be seen this May.
So you wanna join our panel, huh? You’re in for lots of laughs, lots of work and lots of learning. We would love to have you.
The IGNITE! Youth Panel meets every Monday evening, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at The Cultch. If you happen to join in the middle of the year, you will need to sit down with Robert Leveroos, our youth program manager, and he will bring you up to date with what we’ve been doing so far.
