Toast of the Town
Monday, April 25th. Doors 7pm, Show 8pm
Toast of the Town (IGNITE!’s music night, to the uninitiated) is a show featuring the best young musical talent Vancouver has to offer, from classic rock, folk, pop, blues, rock and roll to jazz, it is sure to have something to fit your musical taste. Toast of the Town has become a staple of the Festival, selling out last year with a bill that featured artists such as The Bank Dogs, Pancakes by Donation, and many more.
This year’s show will be MC’d by the legendary Ted Sullivan, which is one more great reason not to miss it.

Sinéad Sanders
Sinéad Sanders is a musician/songwriter based in Vancouver. Her music has been described as everything from blues and rockabilly, to cabaret and jazz, to folk-rock. A performer all through her high school years, after graduating, she hit the road and went traveling. Since returning she has been performing her songs all about town, and chilling out in the garden. This jazz-folk-infused rockabilly blues music is inspired by you, me, and the Emerald Sea. |

Ian Schram
The Ian Schram Outfit was thrown together very recently, basically for the purpose of this festival, as Ian didn’t want to be lonely on stage for it. It is made up of a few guys from the hip and happenin’ music scene at the end of the deep, dark, and dangerous Fraser Valley, where everybody knows each other. The combination of tight drumming, driving bass, chiming electric and right-in-the-chest acoustic guitars makes for entertainment beyond your wildest imaginations. |

Jocelyn Pettit with Simon Nyberg and Alex Hauka
This dynamic strings trio is an exciting new collaboration, fusing world folk traditions with an original twist to create uplifting rhythmic music.
Jocelyn (fiddle, stepdance) has an extensive performance background, touring Canada, US, and Scotland. Her debut CD received two 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award nominations. Simon (guitar) is a multi-instrumentalist, teacher and composer from Sweden, with expertise in jazz guitar and Scandinavian folk music. Alex (cello) teaches and performs throughout the Lower Mainland with several bands and orchestras. |

Liel Amdour
Liel Amdour (b. 1995) is a classical guitarist. She was born in Israel and started playing the guitar at the age of 11. Since she moved to Canada in 2009, Liel has participated and won local musical contests, including the Canadian Music Competition (qualifier for National Round). She has been studying privately with the Bulgarian-born guitar virtuoso Ivan Dimitrov. Liel is a dedicated guitar learner. She enjoys performing regularly for Vancouver nursing homes for seniors and other venues. |

Zoe Martina
Zoe Martina, they called her. Hair: wild, like the flaming wreckage of a car crash outside city hall. They say she strung that guitar of hers with the golden locks themselves. Featured is the only known picture of this beast among womyn. |

Man Chat
An Asian guy, a brown guy, a black guy and two white guys walked into a bar. The bartender said, “HEY MAN CHAT!” Man Chat has been rocking it since 2010 and has played many shows in Vancouver, including the far reaches of East Van. They love experimenting with their music and are constantly evolving. This group of eclectic personalities combine to create a vibrant sound capable of turning that frown upside down. |

Panther & the Supafly
Panther & the Supafly are a world/hip-hop band from Vancouver, BC. In their time playing together they have had the opportunity to play with some of the city’s finest, including Kyprios, Run with the Heard, Moka Only, Ra Focus and Topless Gay Love Tekno Party to name a few. Panther & the Supafly are delivering a one-of-a-kind live hip-hop experience, combining a full band with elements of traditional hip-hop, electronic and world beat – something not worth missing. |
